I work with people who are in crisis or suffering repeated patterns in their lives, who are ready to turn things around, and are looking for a skilled, experienced and committed therapist to show them what is going wrong and how to change it.

I have been working as a Psychotherapist for 12 years. I am UKCP accredited and BACP registered.

I work in Exeter and Moretonhampstead, Devon UK, and online anywhere in the world.

There are always reasons for psychological and psychosomatic suffering, and when we do not tackle the underlying causes, this suffering tends to be repeated throughout our lives, often without any understanding as to why.

I aim to help you resolve the difficulties you bring in a collaborative, focused and emotionally therapeutic way.

I am a Psychotherapist trained to Masters level, and I have gone on to specialise in an advanced evidence-based therapy called ISTDP (Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy).

ISTDP is an accelerated form of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, developed to make therapy more effective, efficient and cost-effective.

I work with adults of all ages and with all problems that have a psychological basis.

ISTDP is effective for any psychological problem, including mood, anxiety, depressive and personality disorders.

ISTDP is also effective for medically unexplained symptoms and medical illness that is understood to have an emotional stress component, as with some digestive, neurological and immunological disorders.

Therapy can be life-changing; bringing confidence, vitality, purpose, a realisation of potential, and more satisfying relationships.

You may be completely new to psychotherapy, in which case I know it can be hard to acknowledge there is something wrong, to ask for help, or to believe that change is possible.

You may have had psychotherapy before and feel like something is still not quite resolved or repaired.  You may even have had years of therapy but things haven’t really changed.  ISTDP psychotherapy is an effective segue in both cases, and it won’t mean starting again or spending several sessions going through personal history.

From the very first session you will gain more clarity on what is causing your difficulties, and on the work we will be doing together to create the changes you are looking for.
